During the 2015/2016 school year, the administration and architects held five community forums. These forums were designed to provide community members with the information developed by the Facilities Strategic Planning Team and to get input from community members. The information presented at the community forums, including a video of the May 17, 2016 community forum held at the Burtsfield gym was placed on the school corporation’s website to allow those who could not attend the community forums to review the proposed facilities plan concepts. You can find this information at http://www.wl.k12.in.us/board/facilities-strategic-plan.
Beyond the community forums, meetings were held with civic and parent organizations to gain input and feedback. Moreover, a special meeting was held with the Burtsfield-area residents to gain additional information and feedback.
After three years of work, development, discussion, and input, the administration and staff are very proud to present to the Board of School Trustees the RDP Project. These concepts provide our students and staff, present and future, with the best educational environment we can provide while adhering to the global parameters set forth by the Facilities Strategic Planning Team.
I wish to thank everyone who was involved in the process. Our school corporation continues to be successful because of the great support and commitment of our staff, parents and community to do what is best for our students, present and future. Thank you for investing in our schools.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rocky Killion
